This PAC does very little to achieve its stated purpose to “help elect leaders who understand this is not just a public safety issue, it’s a crisis of representation and accountability.” There’s no evidence that Stop Gun Violence PAC has a board of directors or any kind of governing body that is accountable for how it raises or spends its money. |

The information below is based on FEC reports through April 30, 2026. Any PAC financial activity after that date is not included in this analysis.
- Stop Gun Violence has not made any independent expenditures from 2023 through April 20, 2026.
- Of the total amount raised of $2,087,274 from 2023 through April 30, 2026, only $98,000 (4.7%) went toward the PAC mission which is Electing Leaders Who Put Families’ Safety Before the Gun Lobby.
- Fundraising and operational expenses accounted for 77% of expenditures in 2023-2024.
- Recipients of funds raised include Mothership Strategies, 34% (fundraising); Defend the Vote, 11% (affiliated committee); Three Marie LLC, 13% (strategy consulting); Every Action 10% (CRM software); and Blueprint Interactive, 3% (digital consulting, web hosting).
- Website red flags include:
- Only 4.7% of total money went to its purpose of electing leaders who put families’ safety before the gun lobby;
- Press inquiry and control buttons are not “live” links;
- Only one person, Brian Lemek is listed on the About Us page.
- There is strong evidence of conflicts of interest:
- Brian Lemek, Stop Gun Violence’s Founder, sole Board Director mentioned and Treasurer, is affiliated with the top three beneficiaries of the PAC: Defend the Vote PAC, Three Marie Political Consulting and Defend the Vote Leadership PAC.
- On February 13, 2026, and June 29, 2026, Steve Schear emailed the Scambusters’ negative analysis of Stop Gun Violence PAC’s operations to Brian Lemek asking Lemek to inform Steve Schear if anything in the analysis was incorrect. Lemek has not responded to either of those emails to this date.
